Fashion meets function
This hat has become both a fashion accessory and a low-tech weather management system. The color brings out the green in my eyes, though my eyes continue to run an independent campaign where they occasionally identify as blue. Either way, the hat is supportive.
It performs beautifully in rain. Tiny water droplets that once attacked my eyeballs are now politely redirected elsewhere. As someone suspicious of chemical sunscreen, I appreciate that this hat operates like a traditional medieval face shield for UV rays. The brim creates a tiny portable eclipse, allowing me to see during aggressive sunshine while simultaneously protecting my forehead from becoming a leather handbag by age 60.
The fit is excellent. It sits securely enough that I can wear sunglasses underneath without feeling like my head is participating in a structural engineering experiment. Most importantly, when Sydney wind tunnels suddenly appear around street corners and try to humble me publicly, the hat remains loyal and attached to my skull. Rare behavior these days.
